Motorcyclist injured in Elkhart County crash

ELKHART COUNTY, ind. -- At 5:51 p.m. on Wednesday, a crash occurred in Elkhart County involving two vehicles.

The driver of a 2019 Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on US Hwy 33 when it approached the County Road 13 intersection.

It then collided with the back of a 2004 Ford Ranger that was stopped in traffic.

The motorcycle sustained heavy damage in the crash and the driver of the motorcycle was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ford and uninjured and no damage was sustained by his vehicle.

The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man from Elkhart, was not able to consent to a blood draw, so a search warrant for his blood was obtained. The results are pending.
