Motorcyclist dies after colliding with tree that fell during storm

ELKHART, Ind. -- A motorcyclist died after colliding with a tree that had fallen into the roadway during Wednesday's storm, according to Elkhart Police.

Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Henke Street around 10:40 p.m. for a crash with injuries.

When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Andrew Sickels with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said Sickels was riding his motorcycle westbound on Henke Street when it collided with a tree in the roadway.

Sickels was the only occupant of the motorcycle.

The crash remains under investigation.
