ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A St. Joseph County man has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender for failing to keep his address up to date with police, according to court records.

Samuel Allen Choate registered as a sexually violent predator with the St. Joseph County Police Department on January 7, 2020. He was required to register every 90 days, but did not register again.

In August 2020, officers went to Choate’s registered address and it appeared to be abandoned, reports said.

Phone calls made to his listed numbers were no longer in service.

Choate was arrested on November 2. He is set to be arraigned on November 19.
