Man arrested in South Bend man's murder arrested in Elkhart County for rape, burglary

ELKHART, Ind. - A man accused of murder in the death of 55-year-old Jon Senour is being held at the Elkhart County Jail on rape and burglary charges for an incident on Monday, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

Antonio White, 23, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Rape with a deadly weapon
  • Burglary armed with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal confinement with a deadly weapon
  • Strangulation

White was also arrested on multiple outstanding and unrelated warrants out of Elkhart County and a warrant out of St. Joseph County.

At 4:57 a.m. on Monday, officers arrived to the 150 block of State Street for a domestic disturbance.

The victim told police that the suspect, who is known to the victim and was later identified as White, broke into her apartment through the window and battered her.

White also had a firearm with him, reports said.

Officers at the scene surrounded the residence and began to negotiate White's surrender because they believed he had a firearm and multiple outstanding warrants.

After approximately 45 minutes, White exited the residence and surrendered to police without further incident.

During the investigation, the victim told police White choked her during the incident and wouldn't let her leave the apartment.

Once the victim could leave with her infant, she called 911.
