Man arrested for Residential Entry, Invasion of Privacy, Battery

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents from St. Joseph County reveal 25-year-old William Casey was arrested and charged with Residential Entry, a Level 6 Felony, Invasion of Privacy-Def. violates an order, a Misdemeanor, Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Misdemeanor, stemming from an incident on Aug. 28.
Casey's first court hearing is Sept. 22.
The St. Joseph County Police Department report an officer responded to an address in the 500 block of Grand Boulevard on Aug. 28.
Upon arrival, the officer heard yelling coming from the rear of the residence. The officer approached the back door and observed a Casey attempting to push his way inside the home.
Police say Casey had one leg inside the doorway and his body positioned as if to slip through.
The officer then pulled Casey back from the door causing him to fall.
Police learned there was a protective order in place against Casey for one of the home's occupants, stemming from an incident on May 13.
It was learned that the protected person was in the hospital at the time.
The victim, who was home, stated Casey came to the residence and attempted to force the door open to take the dog for a walk.
The victim attempted to barricade the door, but Casey was able to keep a crack open.
The victim said Casey had struck him in the head with a wine bottle and scratched his arm through the door's opening.
Police observed damage to the residence, including a broken hinge on the main door and the screen door. The officer on scene also observed blood on the victim's head and forearm.
When the officer spoke with Casey, whose nose was bleeding, he stated he was there to get his dog when the victim hit him.
