SOUTH BEND, Ind. --Tuesday is Hunger Action Day, part of a national effort by Feeding America to raise awareness and take action against hunger.
To take part, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana hosted a mobile distribution Tuesday, allowing people to drive up, pop their trunk and get two carts worth of groceries.
Unfortunately, food insecurity is a growing problem.
According to a study by Feeding America in 2024, there are 47 million people in the U.S. suffering from food insecurity, and rising costs threaten to make that number worse.
The food bank does what it can to support the community, but will always take more donations and volunteer work.
