Man accused of killing Christina Woods is in custody
CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A South Bend man wanted in connection with the murder of Christina Marie Woods has been taken into custody, according to our affiliate in Duluth, Minnesota.
Daniel Gregory Lynn was arrested in Cass County Michigan by members of the US Marshals Service and Michigan State Police.
Woods' body was found in a shallow grave in Minnesota on July 2. The property where Woods' body was found belongs to a family member of Lynn, according to police.
Christina Woods’ mother Mary Robinson is excited to learn that her daughter’s accused killer was caught. She says that she wishes Christina hadn’t fallen in love with Daniel Lynn. “Is he going to pop up, is he going to show up, is he going to try to harm you also?” she said as she explained her troubles sleeping at night.
Robinson says she wasn’t expecting the call today that she got at work notifying Lynn had been caught. “I was kinda starting to get, starting to lose hope a little bit that you know, is justice really going to come through?” she said.
He will be extradited to Minnesota for trial, where Christina’s body was found.
“I thank god up above because he’s been watching he’s been giving strength. He’s been seeing us all the way through this,” said Christina’s mother. Robinson believes that Christina had a hand in finding her accused killer, and she wants her murdered daughter to know that they are fighting for justice.
Mary Robinson thanks everyone involved who helped find the suspect, even the community sharing Christina’s story on social media. As for Daniel Lynn, she says she hopes he gets the maximum sentence or life in prison.
