ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded near the intersection of S.R. 15 and U.S. Highway 20 around 8:11 a.m. Tuesday for a two-vehicle.
Authorities say it was raining, and the road surfaces were wet at the time.
The report states a 2019 Kia Sorento, driven by 50-year-old Cassie Monroe of Sturgis, was traveling north on S.R. 15.
At the same time a 2011 Ford F-250, driven by a 56-year-old Goshen man, was also traveling north on S.R. 15.
Deputies say Monroe was in the right northbound lane, while the Ford was in the left northbound lane next to her.
Authorities say that's when Monroe made an unsafe left turn in front of the Ford, causing the vehicles to crash.
Monroe was taken to Goshen Hospital for complaints of neck and head pain. She was also cited for Unsafe Lane Movement.
The 56-year-old Goshen man was uninjured.
