Local elementary school kids rewarded with chance to silly string principal, pie teachers

North Liberty Elementary School

NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. -- The students at North Liberty Elementary School will be awarded for record-setting Kids Heart Challenge campaign on Thursday with the chance to spray their principal with silly string and smashing pies in the faces of four teachers.

School officials say families in the John Glenn School Corporation rallied to raise more than $20,000 this year for the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge program, including more than $17,000 raised by students at North Liberty.

"More than 340 students at North Liberty Elementary and Walkerton Elementary School participated in the free education and fundraising program in February to support the American Heart Association’s mission to build a world of longer, healthier lives," a school spokesperson said.

"In addition, 86 students completed Finn’s Mission, a series of activities that includes learning Hands-Only CPR."

The AHA Kids Heart Challenge aims focus on whole body wellness and helping students improve their own health and better their character while raising life-saving donations for the AHA to help people facing heart-health issues.
