CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Jefferson Township.

The crash involving a 23-year-old man from Goshen was traveling northbound on M 62 when he left the road and struck a tree. He then returned to the road and stopped in the southbound lane.

Another Vehicle driven by the 26-year-old man from Vandalia was traveling southbound on M 62 when he approached the vehicle and tried to avoid it but ultimately landing in a ditch and hitting a tree.

The driver of the first vehicle was taken to the Niles Lakeland Hospital for his injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.
