SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A fun furry friend is now a part of the faculty at Ivy Tech.
Tech is an 11-month standard poodle not only working to be a certified therapy dog but hopefully marking the start of a new state program
Evan Wigley, Assistant Director of Student Life, says, “Tech is actually the first therapy dog statewide for any of our campuses. I've been actually able to travel to other campuses throughout the state."
Tech lends a helping paw to students and faculty who may be stressed, overwhelmed, or just need something to put a smile on their faces! Tech is still training to be certified but he's already been able to make impacts in the classrooms
Billy Beck, a current student, says, “When Tech comes around, he really changes the atmosphere. Wherever he's at people get excited. You see smiles on their face. You just see their faces brighten up, and they immediately just gravitate toward him.”
