Scattered snow showers will affect much of Michiana as a cold front moves through. Lake-effect snow will develop as winds shift from southwesterly to west-northwesterly later this afternoon. Snow will persist through much of the evening. Lake-effect snow and windy conditions could make the evening commute and Thursday morning's commute challenging. The highest impacts will occur north of the state line in southwestern Michigan counties, with up to 4 inches of snow expected. Northern Indiana counties could see 1–2 inches. Temperatures will plunge overnight, with wind chills dropping below zero. Wind chill values may feel as low as -5° tonight. Thursday will remain cold, with highs in the teens. Conditions will clear, and temperatures will gradually warm heading into the weekend. Rain showers are possible on Saturday, with highs reaching the 40s.
