Krysten Tyler, Meteorologist
Krysten Tyler joined the ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Team in November 2024. This is her first position out of college since graduating from Ball State University (Go Cards!) with a degree in Meteorology and Climatology.
Krysten grew up on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Her interest in TV grew exponentially during her internship at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where she found the importance of impact-driven and community-focused forecasts! Krysten’s favorite season is autumn for a few reasons- the beautiful fall foliage, the family fellowship on Thanksgiving, and of course the pumpkin spice Chai lattes.
At Ball State, Krysten’s love for the community did not just stop at weather forecasting.
She was involved in several community and serviced-based organizations. She had the privilege to be a part of Ball State’s Student Voluntary Service, a service-oriented organization that served people all over the Muncie community. She was awarded the Senior Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding work in community service.
Krysten and her peers also started a roller-skating organization on campus called the 8 Rollers at Ball State. The mission of this organization was to build a community with all types of students and connect through the love of roller skating!
Besides the weather, Krysten loves to listen to music, roller-skate, try new food, watch movies and be involved with her church. You will also more than likely hear her humming a tune from her favorite musical, Hamilton!
Krysten is more than excited to explore the Michiana region and try as many new restaurants as she can, meet new people, and engage with the community! You can connect with Krysten on Facebook, Twitter(X), and by email at [email protected]
