KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. – Bird lovers are invited to enjoy the sights and sounds of fall bird migration at the Big Sit! on Sunday, October 10 at the Pisgah Marsh Wildlife Diversity Area.
The Big Sit! is an international event that focuses on recording all bird observations at one location over the course of a day.
The event will run from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET.
“Pisgah Marsh is a truly special place where visitors can observe a wide variety of birds and other wildlife,” said Dericke Lavoine, who manages Pisgah Marsh and is based at Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area. “Being a state refuge, Pisgah Marsh offers a rare opportunity to experience wildlife in an undisturbed setting.”
Participants are invited to stay at Pisgah Marsh for as long as they like.
Staff with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and experienced birders will be at the marsh to help locate birds.
Participants are asked to bring a portable chair and binoculars or spotting scopes if they have them.
