SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Notre Dame Women's Basketball gains 20th win of the season with a 74-63 win over Syracuse.
The word of the game for the Irish, was defense.
Notre Dame holding Syracuse to six points in the second quarter, before giving up 30 in the third.
"I was really pleased with our turn of defense our effort defensively in the fourth quarter holding them to 10 points after giving up 30," said Head Coach Niele Ivey.
The ladies had a tough time guarding Dyaisha Fair, allowing 22 big ones, but it was the response of the starting lineup that kept them afloat, after the 30-point quarter.
Four of the five starters putting up double digits but the star the show was the birthday girl, Kylee Watson with 15 points and seven rebounds.
"Kylee's birthday today was actually fantastic from the beginning her energy, her defense, just, you know, scoring the ball made some huge free throws, but just she really ignited us today," Ivey added.
"Just came out ready to play today. I just wanted to give it my own call with energy. I owe a lot of credit to my teammates, just finding me and finding open spots in the zone. And just posting up hard making a presence for myself," said Forward Kylee Watson.
