ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announces intersection improvements starting on Monday, March 31, S.R. 15 will be widened to the north and south of C.R. 18. This will allow for dedicated left turn lanes from S.R. 15 to C.R. 18.

Road construction will be done in two phases. Road work will start west of S.R. 15 when it is complete. Then the east side of S.R. 15 will be worked on.  Construction is expected to last until the beginning of July. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

Two lanes of S.R. 15 will remain open during construction. However, the intersection of C.R. 18 and S.R. 15 will be closed when crews are working on each respective side. Drivers needing access to S.R. 15 will need to seek an alternate route.
