INSIDE THE LINES: +1988 odds might be the charm the Irish need

ATLANTA, Ga. -- They say the third time is a charm and I know Irish fans want that to be true tonight.

Even though Notre Dame didn't win the last two meetings -- they proved Vegas wrong -- covering the 17-point spread in 2022 and they would've covered the spread in 2023 if they had 11 men on the field.

For tonight's game, Tim Murray with Vegas sports and information gave me his thoughts on how the teams matchup and where he will place his hard-earned money.

"When you look at these coordinators, it's an incredible showdown of elite minds. When you look at Chip Kelly, offensive coordinator for Ohio State. Al golden, in my opinion, the best defensive coordinator in the game and then you've got Jim Knowles, defensive coordinator for Ohio State, versus Mike Denbrock, offensive coordinator for the Irish," Murray.

"So, elite minds going head-to-head. It's going to be a chess match. So, I think ultimately that leads me to an under in the first half. Maybe things open up in the second half. You know, I know we saw that in the fourth quarter, specifically against Penn State. So under in the first half for me."

LeVon's Parlay Picks at +1988 odds:

First half UNDER -- 23.5
Riley Leonard OVER 222.5 total yards
Riley Leonard ANYTIME touchdown
TreVeyon Henderson ANYTIME touchdown

You could also take the under 45.5 this game. The last two meetings both resulted in 31 total points, and tonight, they will probably make it to 40.

You also know that Leonard will go out and do anything possible to get into the endzone. And as for Henderson, you know it will be either him Judkins, or Jeremiah Smith to reach the endzone.

Henderson is more of the goal line guy and that's why I took him.
