JASPER COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation: Northwest announced maintenance crews mobilized around 11 a.m. Wednesday to resurface part of I-65 following a semi-truck fire.
INDOT officials say the truck and its trailer caught fire on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-65 near mile-marker 209 before 7:30 a.m.
The right lane and shoulder will remain closed throughout the afternoon, INDOT said.
Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
The pavement was damaged and all southbound lanes in the area were temporarily closed.
There's no word if there were any injuries or what the cause of the fire was at this time.
