Three-time convicted murderer faces additional felonies while in jail

UPDATE: The Berrien County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to ABC57 that on Jan. 5, Reese Pence pled guilty to three additional felonies.

These include Assault on a Prison Employee and two counts of Resisting/Obstructing Police while in the Berrien County Jail.

His sentencing for these felonies is scheduled for Mar. 2.

Pence's sentencing for First Degree Murder, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Receiving & Concealing Stolen Motor Vehicle, and the Felony Firearm is scheduled for Mar. 30.

ORIGINAL STORY: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Prosecutor's Office confirmed 20-year-old Rease Pence was found guilty of First-Degree Murder, Carrying A Concealed Weapon, Receiving and Concealing a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and a Felony Firearm Offense.

This is in connection with the deadly shooting of a 14-year-old at Arbor Trails Apartments in May 2022.

Pence is already serving a 122.5-year sentence for a double-homicide in South Bend from January 2022.

Pence's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
