UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal shooting at Angela Boulevard and Michigan Street
ABC 57 UPDATE TWO: The South Bend Department has identified the deceased victim from Sunday night's shooting as 21-year-old Jacob Patchen.
Patchen's autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The report states the Patchen was driving east on Angela Boulevard when he was shot from outside the vehicle west of the intersection with Michigan Street.
Police say there was a juvenile relative in the car at the time of the incident.
The juvenile was uninjured.
SBPD's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating possible motives and is following up on several leads.
Authorities say with several vehicles having been in the area at the time of the shooting, there may be people who heard or saw something around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, in the area.

UPDATE: The South Bend police announced that they have elevated the Sunday shooting investigation near Angela Boulevard and Michigan Street to a homicide investigation after the 21-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- According to the South Bend Police Department, police are responding to a reported shooting near Angela Boulevard and Michigan Street in South Bend, near the campus of Holy Cross College and the University of Notre Dame.
St. Joseph dispatch told ABC57 that upon arrival, police found a male in his vehicle that had been shot.
The male was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The call came in at approximately 7:20 p.m.
The intersection of Angela and Michigan is blocked off due to the police investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation.
