Inclusive Art Fair at Howard Park to celebrate Disability Pride Day July 28

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Venues Parks & Arts announced it will host its inaugural Inclusive Art Fair at Howard Park on July 28 in celebration of Disability Pride Day.
The family-friendly event will highlight the talents and individuality of members of the disability community through art from Corvilla Studio Five9, interactive activities and performances, and local vendors.
“This event is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the unique perspectives that individuals with disabilities bring to our communities,” Shares Misty Piker, Event Organizer, “As a quadriplegic who also is a neurodivergent individual, I am thrilled to be working with community partners who not only recognize the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility but specialize in actively amplifying and honoring disabled voices."
The event will include:
- Corvilla Studio Five9 art sale in Centier Commons
- BFF Bakery’s fresh baked cookies
- Marshall Starke Development Center Performances
The live performance schedule includes:
- 11 a.m. - Choir Performance
- 12:30 p.m. - Guest Speaker: Local Special Olympian
- 1 p.m. - Wicked Dance Performance
- 5:30 p.m. - Music Therapy Showcases
Other activities include outdoor sidewalk chalk art and a visit from the St. Joseph County Public Library’s Book Bike.
