Man arrested for fleeing police near victim with no contact order

MISHAWAKA, Ind. --   According to a probable cause affidavit on July 24, Mishawaka Police on patrol in the area near N Hickory Road and West Edison observed a white Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed above the posted speed limit.  Officers initiated a traffic stop at Manchester Drive and Rexford Drive. 

The driver of the Dodge Carey Cornelius Kimble III accelerated, fishtailed, hit a speed bump, hit a curb, and left the roadway before correcting and continuing south on Manchester until turning west onto Corby Boulevard, overcorrecting and hitting a garage can. 

Kimble attempted to run on foot through an apartment complex. He was taken to the ground in the 900 Block of Patty Lane. 

Carey Cornelius Kimble III is charged in this particular incident with:
Resisting Law Enforcement-uses a vehicle - Level 6 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement def. knowingly or intentionally flees - Misdemeanor

According to the affidavit, Kimble fled from police and was arrested one block from the victim in his other two ongoing cases.

He's due in court on August 4th.
