ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – City leaders and the South Bend Chocolate Company partnered up to help cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of Howard Park’s Public House.
Howard Park’s Public House is meant to cater to customers year-round with seasonal menus, outdoor dining and outdoor heating as well.
This project has been in the works for five years.
Customers who dine-in are helping to give back to the community. A portion of the dining bill will go toward the parks programming, as well as long term care and maintenance.
South Bend Parks and Arts Executive Director Aaron Perri explains what he appreciates about Howard Park’s Public House.
“My favorite part is that this has been such a community partnership,” said Perri. “Every single piece and part of this park has somebody’s finger prints on it, somebody came up with an idea or a thought or a wish, ‘wouldn’t it be neat “if”’. And we have seen all those things come to life over the past five years."
