BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety and the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to a house fire in the 500 block of Archer Avenue around 4:10 p.m., Wednesday.

Fire officials say they had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

The scene wasn't cleared until 8:30 p.m. due to hotspots and investigative work.

No injuries were reported, but the family has been displaced due to extensive damage to the home.

Fire officials were able to obtain security footage from the homeowner's shed which showed the fire started from the hot tub.

The hot tub began smoking before flames spread.

Investigators believe it was an electrical fire.
