GOSHEN, Ind. -- UPDATE: Officers have identified 45-year-old Alma Rocio Bermeo Carreon, of Goshen, as the person found dead following a welfare check Sunday.
ORIGINAL STORY: On Sunday around 5:23 p.m. Goshen police were dispatched to a welfare check at 810 S. Indiana Ave.
Upon arriving police met with the family members of the subject of the welfare call. The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was contacted to investigate due to the nature of the incident.
This is an active investigation at this time, and we will update when we learn more.
