Goshen team holds cystic fibrosis fundraiser

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Some people in Elkhart County found a good reason to get out and about this past weekend.

ABC 57 stopped by a Port-a-Pit fundraiser in Goshen, where folks were lining up for some hot food to help a good cause.

This brave team got together to cook and raise money for cystic fibrosis research. One of the volunteers, whose son has it, said she's thankful for the people who came out to eat.

"Cystic fibrosis only has a life expectancy of about 37, and we want our son around way longer than that,” said Laura Clem. “We are just determined to help him does that."

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
