Goshen FD to hold Change of Command ceremony Nov. 8 as longtime Chief retires

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen Fire Department is honoring 43-year veteran of the department and current Fire Chief Dan Sink with a Changing of Command ceremony on Friday. 

The event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. will celebrate the long, decorated career of Chief Sink while also welcoming incoming Chief Anthony Powell with the oath of office.

"Chief Sink retires after 43 years with the Goshen Fire Department, including the past 19 years as Chief," GFD said. "Chief Powell, appointed as Assistant Fire Chief in 2021, began his career with GFD in 2004, took a break, and returned in 2018."

Goshen Mayor Gina Leichty will be at the ceremony which is taking place at the Goshen Theater.
