Girls on the Run Michiana

ELKHART, Ind. -- Girls on the Run Michiana will host two 5K events that will bring 67 schools and community centers together across Michiana, with the Elkhart 5K happening Saturday at 9:30 a.m. starting at Trinity United Methodist Church.

The public is invited to join in the events which will feature music and creative activities to build confidence and excitement at the starting line.

Organizers say each course offers scenic loops with tree-shaded areas and streets through a residential neighborhood.

The courses will be marked along with plenty of volunteers to guide you along the way.

At the finish line, you can enjoy refreshments, music, and photo opportunities for families, friends, and the girls to capture this accomplishment.

Organizers expect over 2,500 participants combined at this year’s events, including program participants, their family and friends, and community members.

Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 with just 13 girls and now has local councils in all 50 states.
