George Wilson’s Park introduces year-round skiing, snowboarding, and tubing
Mishawaka Parks and Rec MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- George Wilson's Park will be expanding their outdoor recreation with the addition of a year-round skiing, snowboarding, and tubing experiences. All made possible through a $1.5 million grant from the St. Joseph County Hotel Motel Tax Board and Visit South Bend Mishawaka.
The project will include four 250-foot year-round tubing lanes and two specialized Neveplast skiing and snowboarding lanes, constructed with advanced synthetic surfaces designed to replicate the feel of compact snow.
These innovative tracks allow standard equipment to grip and flex naturally, making them suitable for recreational use, instruction, and technical training throughout the year. They will also debut its first-ever carpet lift, a continuous conveyor system that transports riders and equipment back up the hill. This feature will enhance accessibility and improve the overall guest experience.
“The City of Mishawaka is continually pursuing opportunities to develop distinctive amenities that enhance quality of life for our residents,” said Mayor Dave Wood.
In addition, the park's disc gold course will undergo improvements. The project is scheduled for completion in Fall 2026.
