Fort Wayne semi-truck driver arrested for OWI in Marshall County
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Marshall County Dispatch informed deputies of a possibly impaired semi-truck driver on U.S. 30 at Gumwood Road travelling west on Sunday, July 14, around 12:52 a.m.
A Plymouth police officer located the suspected semi-truck and made a traffic stop for an infraction at U.S. 30 and Oak Road.
A Marshall County deputy then arrived and spoke with the driver, identified as 41-year-old John Williams III of Fort Wayne.
During the conversation, the deputy stated he noticed the smell of alcohol.
Williams then agreed to field sobriety tests and a portable breath test.
The report states the certified breath test's result was .127 percent blood alcohol level.
Williams was then arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
He was given a court date and a cash bond of $1500.
