First Fridays: Backyard BBQ in South Bend

DTSB

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- July's First Fridays' theme is Backyard BBQ, described by DTSB as celebrating the simple joys of summer, including picnics, BBQ, time outdoors with friends and family, garage sales, yard games, and more.

This Friday, July 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the community is invited to the 100 block of S. Michigan Street for a block party with dining in the street and a free concert by the Phat Tuesday Dixieland Band.

Vendors and caricaturists will also be in attendance.

DTSB officials say the Gridiron Garage Sale will return, plus a BBQ cook-off and cornhole along with other backyard games.

The South Bend Bike Garage will provide free bike valet at Key Bank Plaza, plus there will be Architectural Walking Tours, the Howard Park Concert Series, Movies at the Morris, and more.

On-street and in city-managed garages are always free in downtown South Bend on nights and weekends.

You can view the official Facebook event page for more details and updates.
