Judge Jamie Woods will preside over the two-day trial which is scheduled to begin each morning at 8:30 a.m. in the Mishawaka courthouse.
During Friday’s hearing, Woods called a 45-minute recess to allow both sides to discuss possible resolutions amongst themselves before trial.
Present at the hearing were attorneys Matthew Anderson, representing the South Bend Common Council, Attorney Dan Pfeifer via zoom, and former SBPD officer Tim Corbett at the center of the case.
Attorneys discussed witnesses, ultimately stating there will be very few live witnesses called, and the case will rely on exhibits of preexisting documents.
Exhibit findings and pretrial briefs are due Nov. 21.
Pfeifer will present first when the trial begins.
Closing arguments will follow with Judge Woods expected to issue a ruling by March 27, 2026.
