SOUTH BEND, Ind-- After nearly 12 years the South Bend Police tapes case is a step closer to being resolved.
In a Mishawaka courtroom today a new judge spoke with attorneys in the case to figure out ways to speed up a decision.
It's a case that dates back to 2011 and involves alleged racist and possibly illegal conversations between South Bend Police who were secretly recorded on a department phone line.
The main legal question is whether the tapes should be made public.
