Everett Golson no longer enrolled at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind.-- Sophomore (soon to be junior) starting quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at the University of Notre Dame according to university spokesman Dennis Brown.

"Federal law and our policies preclude us from discussing specifics," Brown said when asked about why Golson was no longer at the university.

Golson started in 11 games during the 2012-13 football season for the Irish and appeared in 12  games. He led the Irish to victory in 10 contests-- the second-most in school history for a first year starting quarterback.

Golson completed nearly 60-percent of his passes during the 2012-13 season for a total of 2,405 yards and 12 touchdowns with six interceptions.

He led the Irish to the BCS National Championship and hopes were high for another championship run during the 2013-14 season.

Senior Tommy Rees is likely to be the next man in. However, fourth year junior Andrew Hendrix and freshman Malik Zaire are also possibilities to fill the hole in the Irish roster.

Gunner Kiel transferred to the University of Cincinnati in the spring.
