NOW: Email from Praxis CEO: “We are at war“ following allegations of medical malpractice

ST. Joseph County, Ind. - On Thursday, the Praxis Landmark Recovery location in Mishawaka, along with two other locations in Indiana, officially shut down.

Allegations of medical malpractice, overdoses and violence prompted the state to revoke their license.

Now, sources tell ABC57 an email sent to employees from CEO Matt Boyle is declaring, “we are at war.”

Current and former employees sharing with ABC57 News screenshots of an email sent out to Recovery staff from Boyle stating that the sheriff, the state and former colleagues are lying.

The email starts with, “We are at war. This great company we have built is under attack, and the ship is taking on water.”

It then turns the focus to Sheriff Bill Redman.

“The sheriff of St. Joseph County has thrown wild allegations at our company. He states we are not cooperating in his investigation into the deaths at PSBN. Nothing could be further from the truth. He is concerned because these individuals are disproportionately poor, black, brown, in a town that is 86% white.”

ABC57 News has reached out to Sheriff Redman and his Public Information Officer, Troy Warner, but he says, "we have no comment."
