Elkhart Family Resource Center to host September events

ELKHART, Ind. -- Strengthening Indiana Families Family Resource Center is hosting an event Sept. 10 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 612 East Bristol Street in Elkhart.

The event will have bounce houses, giveaways, kid games, and parents will have the opportunity to connect with local organizations and get to know other families.

The Elkhart Family Resource Center is also partnering with the Elkhart County Health Department on Sept. 17 to offer a Certified Car Seat Inspection Event. 

Each person attending the event will receive one-on-one car seat education and an interactive experience to learn more about car seat safety. 

The Certified Car Seat Inspection Event is free to the public and will run from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at 608 Oakland Avenue in Elkhart,

“We are here to support families and create opportunities for connection,” said Nicole Haggin, FRC Coordinator. “Whether it’s through building relationships and making memories together at a Family Fun Event or through one-on-one instruction to learn how to keep your child safe in a car, we are committed to meeting Elkhart parents where they are and creating opportunities for families to succeed. Parenting is one of life’s hardest job, but you don’t have to do this alone.”

Current Elkhart Family Resource Center hours are:

• Tuesday: 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.
• Wednesday: 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Thursday: 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
