Elkhart County Parks to host Volunteer Work Day

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Elkhart County Parks is hosting a Volunteer Work Day at River Preserve County Park on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Baintertown Dam in River Preserve County Park.

Volunteers will have a hands-on opportunity to assist with trail maintenance, and preserve and protect the park’s ecosystem through the removal of invasive plants, such as Bush Honeysuckle and Multiflora Rose.

All equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to wear gloves and bring their favorite loppers or sheers.

This event is open to all skill levels and requires no registration.

All attendees will be required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

Free doughnuts will be provided at 9:30 a.m. to volunteers who wish to come early.
