Nine people arrested as part of narcotics investigation

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police arrested nine people after they served a search warrant at two residences in the 400 block of W. Beardsley Avenue as part of a short term narcotics investigation.
The search warrant was served Thursday at 412 and 414 W. Beardsley.
During the search, officers located paraphernalia, handguns, needles, over 1 gram of methamphetamine, over 1 gram of marijuana, and over 26 grams of a synthetic drug, police said.
Eight people were arrested as a result of the search warrant, police said.
- Billie Hershberger, 40 Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine
- Todd Overpeck, 60 Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine
- James Barnard, 23 Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine
- Ashley Seabolt, 37 Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine
- Stephen Ohrazda, 31 Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of methamphetamine
- Jacob Carter, 27 of Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance
- McKenzie Mays, 21 Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance
- Austin Hayslip, 23 of Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance
- Tristen Grant, 22 Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance
