Early morning storms knockout power on the south side of South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Storms that rolled through Michiana early Monday morning knocked out power for several hundred homes in the Twyckenham Hills area.
The damage included downed trees, disabled powerlines, heavy branches, and dislocated trash.
The primary concern headed into Monday afternoon was the lack of power and air conditioning in the area, as temperatures reached the mid 90s in the early evening.
One homeowner in the area that ABC57 spoke with said they may even check into a hotel if their power and air conditioning wasn’t restored soon.
Some in the neighborhood saw trees down on their homes, vehicles yards, and even garages.
Heavy damage was also spotted at nearby Erskine golf course where there were more than a dozen midsize to the large trees down throughout the area.
Indiana-Michigan Power reports that power has been restored to all homes in the originally affected area.
