Driver identified in fatal Thursday morning crash, investigation ongoing

ABC 57 ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports they are actively investigating the fatal two-vehicle crash from Thursday morning on E. Mishawaka Road/C.R. 20.
Police have identified the deceased driver of the Toyota Yaris has been identified as 74-year-old Rigoberto Padilla of Elkhart. Padilla's family has been notified.
The driver of the Cadillac has been identified as a 51-year-old man and remains in the hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and police will release further information as they're able to.
