SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It took one game in an Arizona uniform for Jeremiyah Love to make an impact in the league.

The former Notre Dame standout and No. 3 overall draft pick forced 6 missed tackles and found the end zone in the Cardinals season-opening win over the Chargers.

Love finished with 41 rushing yards on 11 carries, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He also hauled in 2 receptions for 9 receiving yards in Week 1. Love was coming off a minor preseason high-ankle sprain, so he played in less than half of the offensive snaps.

Love sent a message about how he’s approaching his second NFL game.

"Heading into this next week, it's all gas, no brakes. If I'm on the field, I'm going. Whether my ankle is going to fall off, I'm on the field I got to do my job,” he said.

A bold statement ahead of a special matchup in Glendale. On Sunday, Love will face fellow first-round pick and former Notre Dame teammate, Jadarian Price.

Price also impressed in his NFL debut with the Seahawks. He finished with 10 carries for 52 yards.

So, with their NFL debuts in the rearview mirror, the former Fighting Irish stars will take a few moments to soak in this stage after sharing a backfield in South Bend.

Price said, “It’ll be special. We we even talked about it how we want to maybe swap jerseys or something if we can, cuz it'll be a very special moment and I know that a lot of Notre Dame fans and Notre Dame people will look forward to that.”

“It'll be weird, you know. Like, I played with JD for my three years at Notre Dame; he was my teammate. So it's not going to be my teammate this upcoming game. Still my brother in the end of the day, but you know, we really preparing and going to go to war. So we'll see how it pans out, but I'm honestly excited to see him,” said Love.

The pair of first round picks will play at State Farm Stadium this Sunday at 4:25 ET.
