Driver arrested for OWI after striking utility pole and flipping vehicle

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the 21000 block of C.R. 45 on March 14 around 11:05 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2010 Mazda 3S, driven by 24-year-old Vicente Salazar Sanchez of Goshen, was traveling northwest on C.R. 45 before veering off the north side of the road and striking a utility pole.
Deputies say the utility pole was destroyed and the Mazda rolled an unknown number of times before coming to a stop on all four wheels.
Sanchez was taken to the hospital for complaints of head pain.
During the investigation, deputies say Sanchez displayed several signs of impairment.
A search warrant was then obtained for Sanchez's blood with the results pending.
He was taken to the Elkhart County Jail for OWI and never obtaining a driver’s license.
