Cultivate Food Rescue to provide 6,000 meals to support flood relief in Indiana
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Cultivate Food Rescue announced 6,000 prepared meals will be sent to Indianapolis to assist individuals and families impacted by recent severe flooding.
A Cultivate truck is scheduled to deliver the meals Tuesday morning.
The meals will be brought to Second Helpings in Indianapolis, where staff will coordinate the distribution of meals to those in areas where they're needed most.
“When we received the call asking if we could help, our answer was yes,” said Jim Conklin, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Cultivate Food Rescue. “Our mission is centered around making sure good food reaches people who need it, and right now there are families facing an incredibly difficult situation. We have the ability to help, and we are grateful to be able to respond.”
After the initial 6,000 meals, officials expect more to be sent later in the week as relief efforts continue.
