County Clerk: Morning voting machine jam in Elkhart fixed

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- After reports of a vote counting machine malfunction this morning, ABC57 reached out to Elkhart County Clerk Chris Anderson who confirmed that while a machine was temporarily jammed, the problem has been fixed.

"The issue at the Elkhart County Health Department Link Lincoln Center has been rectified. A technician was sent out. The ballot jam was removed, and voters are now putting their ballots into the optical scanner," Anderson said.

"The auxiliary bin of that piece of voting equipment is specifically there so that voters can cast their ballots into a secure bin, and those ballots can be counted when we get the jam rectified."
