Cook's Pizza in Wakarusa finds new owners, will transition Jan. 14

WAKARUSA, Ind. -- The popular Cook's Pizza Place in Wakarusa has survived a second threat of shuttering its doors for good and will continue to operate under new ownership, according to the current owners.

The restaurant announced on social media late last year that it would be shut down if no buyers emerged to take it over. As of Tuesday, Jan. 14, Cook's has found new ownership and will remain open.

"Thank you for your patience while we keep the restaurant closed briefly this weekend for slight renovations to increase efficiency in the kitchen enabling us to serve you better," the new owners Anthony, Hadassah, and Asher Harris said on social media.

"Together we have over a decade of experience in culinary service. We are eager to learn what your favorite items are on the menu. While sustaining the more than five decades of tradition that Cook’s Pizza enriched Wakarusa with, we are also thrilled to embrace an exciting future."

The restaurant will keep regular hours of Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will be closed Sunday.

"We would love for you to come say hello on Tuesday - we will be on site to welcome you," the new owners said.

"We would also like to thank Jeff and Krista Burden for the smooth transition and for their ongoing encouragement. Our two amazing managers Alicia and Juanita, along with the other employees, will be staying at Cook's. We look forward to serving you."
