LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced a pavement replacement and utilities project will begin on Thursday between Crescent Drive and Kingsbury Avenue on U.S. 35.

Officials say the northbound lanes of U.S. 35 will be reduced to one lane through April for storm sewer installation.

Motorists should expect single lane traffic with flaggers on U.S. 35 between S.R. 2 and Kingsbury Avenue on an as needed basis through late November.

INDOT officials say the first phase of construction will begin with the reconstruction of the intersection of Kingsbury Avenue, Woodlawn Drive and U.S. 35 later this spring.

Officials remind drivers to allow extra time when traveling through this area and to follow traffic directions carefully.

Motorists are asked to slow down, exercise caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
