Congress heads back to work

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congress headed back to work for a short fall session before the November election on Monday.

Lawmakers are expected to focus on a short-term resolution for funding federal agencies.

Party leaders struck a six month deal over the summer. But the House and Senate still need to pass it before funding expires at the end of the month.

Lawmakers could also reach a deal on the farm bill that could provided federal relief funding for states dealing with the drought.
