SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- At least 100 community members gather at Howard Park in South Bend on the 4th of July for a "No Kings" protest in light of President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" being passed through Congress Thursday.

Trump plans on signing the bill Friday evening.

People gathered in the park with loudspeakers and signs protesting the decision.

"A lot of people who are disillusioned right now forget that it's important to remember you love your country. I think people are here because they love their country. Do they want positive change? Absolutely. So, unity is what I think we're here to achieve," said Ivan Kuharic, a protestor in attendance.

After the gathering at Howard Park, they marched to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to line up alongside the street.

Cynthia Haas, another protestor, stated, "Well, we're just trying to stand up for democracy, for human rights. We're against the current regime, the president, the way it's voting. People are losing rights. Poor people are getting poorer. Rich people are supposedly getting richer, it's just sort of upside down, and so we're here to protest it."
