Coast Guard opens Lake Michigan summer air facilities

ABC 57 DETROIT -- More crews to handle potential Lake Michigan rescue situations are here for the season.
Starting today, May 21, the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit is opening its summer air facilities along Lake Michigan. This includes a station in Muskegon, as well one as Waukegan, Illinois. The Coast Guard says it's important to have increased patrols at this time of year, especially with boating season beginning in earnest.
