Chicago police look to fight back against recent violence

CHICAGO -- The rise in shootings in Chicago has police their strategizing to combat the violence.

One move the city is considering is putting more officers on the street this summer. The department could start paying officers overtime as part of this strategy.

The FOP says the over the last year, 1,000 officers have retired and only 150 have been hired.
